Abstract:
This work had as it aim to analyse the physical training for the practice of soccer offered to the juvenile category (U-17) in soccer teams of the State of Sao Paulo and relate its compatibility to the physical development of this age class collected in the theoretical referential. The instrument utilized in the survey was a questionnaire elaborated for the physical trainers. The questionnaire, composed of both open and closed questions, furnished data in respect to the academic formation, professional experience, and aptitude of the physical trainers; the structure of the clubs, besides programs and contents of such trainings. It was observed that the professionals who conduct the physical activities hold an academic formation that enables them to the function they exercise (85.71% are graduated in Physical Education and 14.29% were concluding the Physical Education course), a concern with both the apprenticeship and the theoretic development being evident (41.67% have post-graduation). A series of factors such as medical evaluations, both antropometric and physical being realized in order to establish conditions for the planning. The statistical analysis revealed that 100% of the teams realize specific activities and that 85.71% divide such activities per position; the physical sessions take 62 minutes in the average; velocity and strength capacities are trained in specific basis by 100%, resistance by 85.71%, coordination by 71.43%, agility by 57.14%, flexibility by 42.85% of the professionals. We may conclude that the professionals are theoretically prepared for the function they exercise; physical activities applied to this category is similar among the teams and the physical training is close to that idealized by the theoretical referential. It may also be observed that the teams that have a more organized structure present more favorable conditions for a better performance of the athletes and their teams.
